Our history
In the seventies, Agustín Sánchez Fuentes moved to Barcelona to learn carpentry and cabinetmaking in one of the best companies in Spain (Muebles Palau), and he balanced his work with a correspondence course about Decoration.
Later on, in the early seventies, he came back to Jaén and from a modest artisan carpentry, Agustín Sánchez Fuentes, with every use of his gouge, began to carve the history of Muesco. In that 30 m2 located in the South of Spain (Alcalá la Real, Jaén), Agustín did his job honorably, and day after day, showed his devotion to cabinetmaking and made-to-measure furniture.
Thanks to his special care with finishes and elaboration of useful products made with high-quality materials, the number of orders increased year by year. So, he had to expand his workshop and hire and teach new cabinetmaker masters.
Agustín specialized in made-to-measure furniture, mainly in kitchen and bathroom furniture. In the eighties he created `Muesco´ brand and opened his first shop of kitchen and bathroom furniture in Alcalá la Real.
Some years later, in the nineties, his four sons, who were raised playing among wood boards and listening to the chainsaw whistle, began to help their father, providing new aims and challenges to overcome.
Nowadays, two of his sons, José Antonio and Agustín, lead the project, and Muesco belongs to a business group leader in made-to-measure furniture manufacturing with more than fifty years of experience. Wood, metal, glass and solid surface are the materials they work to make real the ambitious projects of architects and famous interior designers belonging to the Contract area.
